PostalcoEstablished: 2009 | Country of Origin: USA Postalco began in Brooklyn, New York. Curious about the international transport of mail, paper itself became just as interesting. Their logo is the carrier pigeon. They wanted a way to carry papers and documents that would function and age well. Some experimentation resulted in a series of document carrying envelopes made from pressed cotton and leather with an adjustable button closure. The adjustability of a piece of paper is remarkable. It is an object, a surface, and a tool. Notes are sometimes taped to a wall, or folded and then sent by mail. The exchange of messages written on paper is universal. They are inspired by the warmth of paper, but its immediacy makes it essential. |
