SeaVees

SeaVees is inspired the casual style of California in the 60’s. Each style is named after an influential date in California’s history. “SeaVees is a journey through which to understand California’s vital role in influencing American culture. SeaVees is Authentic California.” Derek Galkin and Steven Tiller are the new minds behind SeaVees. The two brand building veterans were brought together by their admiration for iconic brands, and driven by their desire to create an outlet for their shared aesthetics and aspirations. Unearthing the SeaVees brand appealed to their sense of history and genuine love of research. Specifically, it addressed a passion for California culture and timeless design from the 1960’s. This would provide the base platform for a new company that allowed for their brand of respectful rehabilitation. This contemporary reclamation of the rich heritage of 60s California became a second chapter for SeaVees. The new SeaVees story is more about preserving cultural history than it is about revival. It speaks to the potential of the past to authentically play out in new product, making it at once contemporary and historically respectful. SeaVees is a journey through which to understand California’s vital role in influencing American culture.
