Ernest Wilkins Goes to Haberdash

Ernest Wilkins and photographer Lenny Gilmore stopped by the store last week to keep the November of Dressing Nicely (NoDN for short) moving. What is NoDN? It began with a very well-dressed gentleman coming in from LA, as detailed here, which led to the conclusion that, “Guys in Chicago usually don’t care what they look like.” And so, for a whole month last year (and during the month of November this year), a collection of guys—including their well-dressed leader, Ernest Wilkins—are pulling out all the stops when it comes to getting dressed each day. You can see the chronicle of NoDN guys here, then scroll down and check out the shots that Ernest (and photographer Lenny Gilmore) got of Zach, below. Great working with you guys!

Haberdash featured in Chicago Magazine’s August 2011 issue as Chicago’s best shop for Men’s Shoes!

“Last October, the men’s boutique Haberdash opened its second location in the Tree Studios building in River North. Which prompted us to notice that the store, in addition to its casual apparel for guys, stocks a terrific array of preppy and not-grotesquely-hip dress and weekend shoes that will get men from the office to the boat dock and back. The choices, from $100 to $350, include gentlemanly Grenson wingtips, sensible work options from Eastland, Keds and Sperry Top-Siders, and old-school sneakers, such as the Nike Air Vengeance.”

Blogger Ryan Plett featured on GiltMANual, talking about his favorite spots in the Windy City. We were honored to be included in Ryan’s list—he definitely gets what we’re doing.

“Haberdash has been in Chicago for quite some time but recently changed their direction a bit with the product mix, bringing in quality brands like Alden, L.B.M. 1911, Barbour, Walk-Over, Tanner Goods, 3sixteen, etc. They have some great new things in the works that should continue to improve the way men dress here.”
